After discovering Dragon Ball as a kid, I started drawing my own manga. I still own a dusty pile of my childhood manga about a magical girl who is a part-time taxi driver hunting dinosaurs with a unicorn sidekick – a masterpiece that not a single soul has ever read. Thankfully.
As an adult, I traded shonen for seinen and started a new series, inspired partly by years of intense Taekwondo training. After countless hours learning to fight with my legs, I wondered: What if my main character had no arms? Thus, Carrier of the Mask was born. I poured pure passion and minor trauma into it. Friends suggested I need therapy. Turns out, a lot of you do too: Across all volumes, I’ve sold nearly 3k copies in Germany – a massive milestone when you realize I hauled every 25–30 kg book box myself. With a few awards and nominations under my belt, I’m starting to wonder: maybe I’m not a weird outsider anymore?
By day, I’m a professional graphic designer and functioning adult. By night, I’m an underground mangaka sacrificing my social life to doomscrolling cat videos and playing PlayStation. (Please be patient with updates!)
Why Otabushi?
I saw their Instagram post about an “open door policy.” Retaining my rights and creative freedom was non-negotiable. Otabushi offers fair, transparent conditions and a shared passion for manga. But the best part? International readers can finally read my work, and my spine can recover from shipping heavy boxes!
