Eyo! Merry Here! Thanks for checking my works! I’ve been drawing almost non-stop ever since 2009 and I’m not gonna stop anytime soon! Videogames like Sonic, Touhou Project and Pokemon were what lit up the spark, and magic worlds like Card captor Sakura, Pandora hearts or Yumekui Merry Were what raised my pencil to write! You can see how my Artstyle is a bit of a mixture between both the manga and videogame visuals.
I have to be honest, It took me a long while to actually choose a stable path in the MangAnime field. I always wanted to tell my stories to the world, and to do that you can be Illustrator, mangaka, animator, concept designer, character designer, rigger, background artist, Webcomic artist… the choices were too many and I enjoy all of those specialties equally! I tried to work on as many of them as possible at least once, so I kinda became a jack-of-all-trades by the time I finished Art School.
There was one thing in particular that gave the extra point to becoming mangaka, and that was the encouraging words of a professional! We got a lucky chance to meet in a convention where they were invited and I was showing and selling my works, and aside from buying my first fanzine, they also gave me a chance to speak about my goals and wished to read my first work once I get published. Hearing that not just from a professional mangaka, but exactly on the moment I was needing to make a choice on my career gave me a Boost to work extra hard on this goal!
Why Otabushi?
Simple: if I see a chance, I will take it! I was already sending manuscripts to publishers and contests when I encountered the Otabushi team, and i kid you not, I think I’ve never seen such a passionate and hardworking team! I can see their goals achieved as much as Mines, and I’m here for it!
